Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Siliguri -Transfer to Darjeeling

    Arrive in Siliguri at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (68 kilometres), Bagdogra Airport (69 kilometres), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (62 kilometres). Meet our tour representative. He will help you transfer to Darjeeling.
    Darjeeling is a beautiful hill station. It is home to the World Heritage Train, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), also known as the toy train. Located at 7,100 feet above sea level, Darjeeling features lush tea estates, peaceful surroundings, stunning scenery, and Buddhist monasteries. The streets are lively, offering many striking views.
    Upon arriving in Darjeeling, check into your hotel. Take some time to relax. The evening is yours to enjoy. You can take a leisurely stroll to the Mall or explore local shops for souvenirs. Enjoy your overnight stay in Darjeeling!

  • Day 02: Darjeeling sightseeing

    The second day starts early. Get up around 3:45 a.m. Drive 11 km to Tiger Hill. The goal is to see the sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak, weather permitting. This spot is a top attraction in Darjeeling. The drive through the oak forests is refreshing. It’s wise to leave early to avoid traffic jams. When the sun rises, it lights up the Peak like an orange ball. Take a moment to enjoy the scenery and tranquillity.
    On the way back, stop at Ghoom Monastery, also called Yiga Choeling. It is one of the oldest gompas in Darjeeling and belongs to the Buddhist Yellow Sect. Next, visit the War Memorial. This memorial is set in a beautiful garden by Batasia Loop. It honours Gorkha martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their country.
    Don’t miss the chance to ride the toy train around the loop. The views of the surrounding landscape are stunning. Afterwards, head back to the hotel for breakfast. Then, continue your adventure at the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which is closed on Thursdays. Other stops include the Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, and the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center, which is closed on Sundays.
    Visit the Tea Estate and the Natural History Museum, also closed on Sundays. Finally, see the white Peace Pagoda, a massive dome-like structure featuring golden Buddha statues in various poses. Enjoy your overnight stay in Darjeeling!

  • Day 03: A day's visit to Mirik (58 km- 1 hr 30 min)

    After breakfast, we will head to Mirik for the day. Mirik is near Darjeeling and offers a unique experience. It is becoming a popular tourist spot. Along the way, there are several scenic spots perfect for photos.
    Once in Mirik, you will find the beautiful Sumendu Lake in the town’s centre. Lush tea gardens and landscaped parks surround the lake. You can also see cardamom groves and the majestic Himalayas in the backdrop.
    Enjoy your time here by taking a boat ride on Sumendu Lake or going horseback riding through the area.
    In the evening, we will return to Darjeeling. On the way back, we will stop at Pashupati Market, located on the India-Nepal border. Here, you can shop for antiques, souvenirs, and unique foreign goods.
    The evenings in Darjeeling are free for exploring. You can wander along the Mall Road or visit the local market area. You will spend the night in Darjeeling.

  • Day 04: Darjeeling- Kalimpong (49 km- 1 hr 40 min) (Sightseeing)

    Start your day with a hearty breakfast. After that, you will transfer from Darjeeling to Kalimpong. Kalimpong is nestled in the Himalayan foothills at an altitude of 1250 metres. This lush destination offers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a peaceful retreat.
    Enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan peaks while you explore the town. Kalimpong features beautiful colonial-style architecture and serene Buddhist monasteries. Visitors are drawn to the tranquillity of the area. Upon arrival, complete your hotel check-in.
    Once you’ve settled in, it’s time to explore Kalimpong. Don’t miss the Forest Museum (closed on Thursday), the scenic Deolo Hill, and Hanuman Mandir, where you’ll find a giant statue of Lord Hanuman. Visit Dr Graham Homes, Durpin Monastery, and Mangal Dham, a tranquil temple complex dedicated to Lord Krishna and Guru Mangal Das Ji.     Durpin Gompa, also known as Zangtok Pelri Phodang, is the largest monastery in Kalimpong and sits on Durpin Hill at 1372 m. Kalimpong is a beautiful place to spend the night. Enjoy your stay!

  • Day 05: Kalimpong- Gangtok (73.5 km- 2 hrs)

    Start your day with breakfast. Then, drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. This beautiful hill town is nestled at an altitude of 1600 meters. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Northeast India. Honeymooners from around the world flock here for its Buddhist monasteries and lush scenery. The pleasant climate adds to the charm.
    As you arrive, hold hands and enjoy the stunning views. Look out for colourful flowers like orchids and rhododendrons. Upon arrival, complete your hotel check-in. Take some time to unwind.
    In the evening, explore at your own pace. Head to M G Road (Mall) if you want to shop. You can find woollen clothing, Thangka paintings, handicrafts, and much more. Spend the night in Gangtok and soak in the beauty around you.

  • Day 06: Gangtok sightseeing

    After breakfast on the sixth day, explore Gangtok’s top attractions. Start with the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom. Then, visit the Research Institute of Tibetology and Do Drul Chorten (Stupa). Next, check out Enchey Monastery and White Hall. Don’t forget the Flower Show, an excellent spot for nature lovers.
    Ganesh Tok is a small temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha, located on the Gangtok-Nathula Road. Continue to Hanuman Tok and Tashi View Point for stunning views. Finally, visit Banjhakri Falls, one of Gangtok’s most beautiful waterfalls.
    For flower enthusiasts, the Flower Exhibition Center offers a permanent show. It’s near Ride Park and White Hall, making it easy to visit. This greenhouse-like exhibition features celosia, gerberas, roses, and orchids.
    When night falls, enjoy Gangtok’s discotheques for some evening fun. Spend the night in this vibrant city.

  • Day 07: Day's trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

    On the seventh day of your tour, you’ll explore nearby attractions of Gangtok. After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.
    Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, sits at an elevation of 12,400 feet. It is a glacial lake located 37 kilometres from Gangtok. This stunning location is home to Brahminy ducks and various colourful migratory birds.
    After visiting the lake, you’ll travel to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial War Temple, which is about 20 kilometres away. This site honours soldier Harbhajan Singh of the 23rd Punjab Regiment, who died in the Indo-China War in 1962. Over time, it has transformed into a temple.
    In the evening, you will return to Gangtok. If time permits, feel free to shop on Mall Road or relax in your room. Please note that if there are landslides or transportation issues to Tsomgo Lake, we will arrange alternative sightseeing options.

  • Day 08: Gangtok to Siliguri for departure– Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (119) / Bagdogra Airport (126)

    Today is your last day of the 8-day North East honeymoon package. After breakfast, pack your belongings. Then, get ready for your transfer to Siliguri. You can choose between New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. Enjoy your trip!
